Meg Lau is an artist and teacher in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She began her career in 1998 teaching art in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District where she teaches high school ceramic arts. She draws inspiration from her students as well as her own children. She is a mother of two children who play an important role in her creative process. Her love of art was cultivated by her mother who was also an art teacher.
Meg studied art in Florence, Italy for one semester before graduating from Millersville University with a BSE in Art Education. She earned her Masters in Art Education from Kutztown University and her Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramic Arts at Hood College, Frederick, MD. Meg currently shows her work at Red Raven Art Gallery in Lancaster, PA and has shown at other galleries such as The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition in NYC, The Gifts Inn Boonsboro Gallery, Howard Community College Gallery, and Hodson Gallery at Hood College in MD. She won a best of show bronze award in the Material Matters Exhibit in 2017, a second place award in the Hood College Annual Juried Graduate Student Exhibit two years in a row, and first place in The Community Art Show at the Lancaster Museum of Art in 2015.
